A Moody Gilbert Wedding

Brittany and Shane's wedding took place in the beautiful home of the bride's parents. We absolutely love working on weddings in private residences because we get to sidestep the rules of traditional venues and the party can last all night. This venue was a dream and the muted color palette combined with the more rustic details created the perfect blend of classic and nature-inspired styles.

For the color palette, Brittany chose mainly whites with touches of a dusty pink. Something to keep in mind when you're selecting your wedding colors, and the colors of your floral palette, is the editing style of your photographer. Is it more important to you to have everything look a certain way on your wedding day? Or, are you more concerned with the colors that will show through in your images from your big day? Brittany loved the muted tones in Jonnie & Garrett's photography and for her, the look of her pictures was more important than the exact tones of color on her wedding day, so we chose colors for her flowers that would look more muted in the images than on their wedding day.

The design details at the ceremony were kept more minimal with the focus on this stunning arch. We mixed king protea with roses for this fun, textural look.

Simple doesn't mean boring and we love the way this wedding showcases that. Her classic blush and white color palette is amped up with luxe blooms and an unexpected mix of textures (protea, roses, and eucalyptus) and this fall wedding still has us swooning over a year later.
