Frida Kahlo Inspired Wedding

This is a throwback but it’s one of our all-time favorite projects. I have long been a fan of Frida Kahlo and when I discovered the Eisendrath House, I knew I had the perfect location for a Frida Inspired shoot.

Our bride wore a custom gown from Cleo & Clementine. I love the simplicity of the dress which allows for the details to bring a lot of personality without feeling overwhelming. Minimal wedding gowns make my heart sing but make sure your splurge for one that is beautifully made. It’s the same as with food - if you have only a few ingredients you need to use the best of the best because each piece will shine through.

Speaking of beautifully tailored garments - can you believe these incredible suits from Magro Clothing? The team at Magro does incredible work and our grooms that work with them are always impeccably dressed.

One of my favorite aspects of this shoot is that all of the details were so BIG. In the wedding world, we often shy away from making a bold statement with prints/colors/details but this shoot proves that you don’t have to fear it.

Holly & Kori's Late Summer Sedona Wedding

We LOVE working in Sedona. Love it. Those red rocks are BREATHTAKING and to be honest, we can't get enough of that view. I also think that the energy in Sedona sets the perfect stage for a happy, dreamy wedding day.

Last September, Holly & Kori tied the knot among the red rocks then celebrated their new marriage at Tlaquepaque. Their day had all the right desert touches alongside a beautiful, upscale design details. It's a wedding we've been dying to share and I can't wait to walk you through all the beauty today!!

Let's start by talking about flower crowns. I will always and forever support tiny crowns for tiny people. They are never, not cute and you definitely need them. and while we're on the topic... You know what else we support? Floral collars on dogs. The cute overload is EVERYTHING.

Holly and Kori's standing ceremony was one for the books. If you're planning a short ceremony, you can skip chairs entirely. I love the intimacy this set-up created and the connection between the guests and the happy couple.

Following their ceremony, Holly and Kori moved to Tlaquepaque with their guests to celebrate. This sweet space is one of our favorite places to work and you're about to see exactly why.

Sedona Wedding - Tlaquepaque Reception

Guest tables were marked by calligraphed cactus paddles and the centerpieces alternated between fun, desert inspired arrangements and candles in gorgeous, minimal glass cylinders. The set-up was simple but the end result was incredibly chic.

One of my favorite details throughout the reception were the terra cotta signs. Each guests' seat was marked by a calligraphed terra cotta plate and this detail was mirrored in their menu signage and in small cacti potted in terra cotta at each table.

That 70's Shoot

On New Year's Eve we got to help set the stage for an incredible wedding in upstate New York. It was an absolute dream and I'm working on the post with all the luscious details as we speak but today, we're jumping ahead a little bit! The photographer from that NYE shoot was the amazing Allison Markova. I knew from the moment she shared the first sneak peek of that wedding that we needed to work together again. And, lucky for me, Allison and her lovely husband traveled to Arizona last month and we got to create some 70's inspired magic in the desert.

Sometimes you just need some dreamy inspiration in your life, you know? I'm so glad we're on the same page there. I've been having a moment with oranges and yellows so I really ran with a fiery color palette on this bouquet. What do you think? Are you brave enough to try some bold color on your big day? I'll stop talking it up and just let you see all of the gorgeous, 70's vibes firsthand. Let's get to it!
