Liz & Michael's Hotel Valley Ho Wedding

Let’s start off this week with a little walk down memory lane.

I started Hoot & Holler (now Form Floral) on the side of a day job that I was really unhappy in. I didn’t know what I was going to do, but I knew that I needed to leave my position as soon as possible for the sake of my mental health. When I put my notice in at my day job, I really did not have the clientele necessary to take my floral design full time. So, I spent my days marketing my ass off in any way I could think of. I had some leftover flowers from a photoshoot and over lunch with my dad, I decided I would create some small arrangements and deliver them to businesses I hoped to work with someday.

One of the places I dropped an arrangement was the Madewell in the Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall. From that small introduction would grow so many beautiful relationships I can hardly believe it. One of those relationships was with Liz who dropped us a line shortly after she had a ring on her finger.

Liz and Micahel’s wedding was in early 2017 and fell into the very early stages of our a la carte package. It was an absolute joy getting to be a part of their wedding day and, to make things even sweeter, our longtime friend Lunabear Studios was the photographer. It’s alllll so good and I’m thrilled to finally be sharing their day!

Amy & Jordan Workshop

Last fall we had the pleasure of joining forces with Kayla of Some Like it Classic to bring a beautiful styled shoot to the attendees of the Amy & Jordan Workshop. Kayla's vision was a minimalist interpretation of Anthropologie's style in a color palette inspired by a real wedding we had earlier in the year! We loved the layered purple color palette against the minimalist, modern details. You ready to jump in?

Our couple was dressed to the nines in a suit from Magro Clothing and a gown from Bhldn. Our bouquet featured the best late summer blooms we could find from dahlia and smokebush to a statement orchid and some sculptural twigs for some personality.

After a dreamy portrait session in the Arizona desert, we moved the gorgeous upstairs space at The Clayton on the Park - one of our favorite venues! Kayla created the table setting with a stunning velvet linen from La Tavola and continued layering in details with each element atop the table. The tableware was all from Anthropologie and we pulled from the color and texture to create the perfect floral accents to compliment them.

We're going to get real with you for a minute. The difference between DIY and hiring a professional is abundantly clear in the design of your wedding. Your big day is going to include hundreds of tiny details and when you hire a pro to help you, you can rest assured that each and every one of them will lend itself to the bigger picture and create a wedding day that far exceeds your expectations. If you are looking for help with the styling of your wedding day, let us step in and show you how we do things. It takes a ton of stress off your plate and will leave you with your dream wedding.

Take a peek at how everything seamlessly flows together in this reception set-up. The linen really creates the base and the floral arrangements pull in all of the colors that you find in the other design elements (think if your flowers like the cherry on top of your wedding sundae). The cake from Ruze has a metallic detail that is mirrored in the vases and frames found throughout the space and almost all of the tableware and serving dishes are various types of clear or lightly colored glass.

EVERY SINGLE SPACE IN THIS DESIGN BRINGS IN THE SAME ELEMENTS! It keeps the aesthetic consistent so even though Kayla utilized many different textures and a pretty broad color palette, it looks like each piece was meant to go together and nothing looks busy or crowded.
