BFF New Year's Eve Party

Something that's near and dear to my heart is spending quality time with the people I love. Friendships really carry you through so much of your life and when you're surrounded by good ones, it's definitely something to be cherished.

I meet with the ladies behind Standard WaxTeaspressa, Tremaine Events, and Iconic Cocktail Company quarterly to share the goals of Form Floral, to get help with creating a business that I love and that is good to my clients, and for a sense of community that even though we're out on our own that we aren't by ourselves in this lovely world of entrepreneurs.

So, when Kaylee of Iconic Cocktail Co. bought a gorgeous romper that inspired Leah of Tremaine Events to create an ultra violet New Year's Eve Party, you can be sure we jumped at the chance to flower the event. Below are some of my favorite details and stories from the shoot but you can read more about the inspiration AND hear Leah's tips for creating the perfect laid back NYE gathering over on Green Wedding Shoes!

Imma get real with you for a minute here. Owning a business has really done a number on my self-care and it's a rare day when I get to dress up, have my hair and makeup done, and not worry that I'm about to ruin my pretty outfit. I think it's safe to say the other power ladies in this shoot agree that it was an absolute treat to get dolled up for this. Coral of Braids & Bobbypins did a beautiful job on our hair/makeup giving us an elevated look without making us uncomfortable in our own skin.

After a few cocktails from the best bartender we know (rocking the jumpsuit that inspired the whole affair), it was time to dive into the food by the talented Brendan McCaskey. I love how approachable his food is while still being absolutely beautiful (and INSANELY delicious).

New Year's Eve isn't complete without a shit-ton of confetti and we couldn't resist popping a bottle of champagne and throwing confetti all over the place. We learned from Lauren that the secret to a good "confetti-throwing" picture is to throw it high but keep your head straight so you aren't all neck. Sharing this advice with you because everyone should have that tip in their back pockets, ya know?

After we had some drinks in us, we sat down to try to write down some goals for 2018. Turns out, I'm not great at goal-setting past cocktail number two but it was really fun to hear from the other ladies about their plans and dreams for the new year. Plus, how cute are those coasters designed by Prickly Pear Studio?

That's all, folks. We wrapped up the night dancing under the stars, snacking on the treats from Voyager, and laughing until our sides hurt.
