Kathryn + Jerry's Late Summer Wedding

Kathryn + Jerry's Late Summer Wedding

We’re kicking off the new year with a blog post that’s near and dear to my heart. THIS COUPLE WAS SO MUCH FUN I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO SHARE ALL THE DELICIOUS DETAILS OF THEIR BIG DAY WITH YOU OHMYGOD. Kathryn and Jerry reached out to us well in advance of their wedding day. Our first meeting was in their home city of Chicago and we clicked immediately. They chose Arizona for their wedding day because they’ve spent a lot of time out here enjoying Cubs spring training games over the years. As someone who once called Chicago home, I LOVED the connection wee all shared and feel wildly grateful that I got to flower their wedding. These two are amazing and their wedding was full of the most amazing details. Let’s get to it!!

Kathryn and Jerry decided to forgo most traditional ceremony decor as they made their love official in this stunning church. Ya’ll… if the building for your ceremony is stunning (church/venue/park/synagogue/temple/etc.), you really just need a breathtaking bouquet to bring it all together.

After, “I do”, the couple shared some champagne between their ceremony and reception. I love couples who are able to carve out some quiet time in their wedding day to celebrate.

The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort offers a really stunning layout for weddings. The highest level of the restaurant, Different Pointe of View, has floor to ceiling windows showing off the beauty of Phoenix. This is where Kathryn and Jerry hosted friends and family for dinner. Rather than investing in heavy floral for this space, we opted for tall candlelight and accents of foliage for a romantic setting that didn’t detract from the views. Sidenote: you can tell from the couples’ grand entrance how fun they are (psst… can I please be friends with you two?!).

Then, the party moved downstairs. On the patio, we fancied up the on-site arch with tons of foliage, funky edison bulbs, and big potted cacti and succulents. You know we can’t get enough of a good install and this one truly did not disappoint.

And then… the party got started. And dannnnnng did these two throw a good party. I’ll leave you with some of my favorite shots of the festivities so we can all wish we were there together.
